Easter Egg Hunt

On Thursday, April 17, 2014, we had a class Easter Egg Hunt.  Thank you to Mrs. Fairfield and Mrs. Tressler, who came to school to help.  Thank you to all of you who sent in plastic eggs and candy for the Easter Egg Hunt.

Students were only allowed to pick up eggs with their own name.  If students found an egg with someone else's name, they could tell them where the egg was, but they weren't allowed to pick it up.  Our students helped each other instead of competing against each other.  Thanks to their parents' generosity, each student found twenty eggs!

Thank you, also, to the families of Adam, Nayeli, Seila, and William, who sent in cookies, cupcakes, and juice for an Easter treat.  We are so grateful for your generosity!

Third Quarter Awards

The following students earned these awards for the Third Quarter.

"E" Honor Roll

 "E/S+" Honor Roll

 Perfect Attendance
(Duval County Public Schools policy states that three tardies equals an absence.  Several more of our students would have earned Perfect Attendance, but they had three or more tardies.)

 Outstanding Conduct

Young Musicians

Our young musicians are learning to play handbells.  They will perform on stage on Thursday evening, April 24, 2014.  Please invite your families and friends to our East Ranch Kindergarten Program.  (Please note that our West Ranch Kindergarten classes will perform on Tuesday of that same week.)

Math Centers

Now that we have finished our Math Unit on Geometry, our Math Centers have changed.  Students are now practicing addition, subtraction, putting numbers in order 0-20, and from 0-100, as well as following the i-Ready curriculum on the computers.  Don't forget that your child can use i-Ready on your home computer.

Shape Hunt

During our recent Math Unit on Geometry, our students went on a Shape Hunt twice.  The first time, students were looking for two-dimensional shapes such as circles, hexagons, rectangles, rhombuses, squares, trapezoids, and triangles.  The second time, they looked for three-dimensional shapes such as cones, cubes, cylinders, pyramids, rectangular prisms, and spheres.
