On Friday, May 6, 2011, we invited Mothers, Grandmothers, Aunts, and Classroom Volunteers to our annual Mothers' Day Tea. Seventeen adult guests were there, along with two little sisters. Sweet Tea was served in a punch bowl, along with several types of cookies. Students shared some of their school work with their guests: Journals, Reading Logs, Poetry Books, Independent Reading Books, and Reader's Response Journals. We also demonstrated how our "Smart Board" works. Thank you to those of you who were able to attend !!

THANK YOU !!
Thank you so much for an incredible Teacher Appreciation Week! Not only do I get to come to work each day and spend it with 17 beautiful, energetic children who are eager to learn and try new things, but I got spoiled this last week. On Monday, our PTA provided breakfast, on Tuesday they provided lunch from Longhorn Steakhouse, and on Wednesday, we received gift bags with candy, a note pad, pens, and a gift card from The Dollar Tree. On Thursday, our faculty and staff were treated to "Death by Chocolate" (yummy!) and on Friday, we each received a 15 minute massage! In the classroom, from our students, I received flowers, candles and "apple" things for my collection. Thank you for the lovely, healthy, and tasty Fruit Basket complete with apples, oranges, banana, grapes, and mangos! Thank you for the extra school supplies in the form of paper, pencils, pens, note pads, crayons, glue, and treats for the children. Thank you for the gift cards from Michaels, Walmart, Books-a-Million, and Cracker Barrel. Teacher Appreciation Week was great ~ I love my career as a kindergarten teacher.
Sincerely, (the very spoiled) Mrs. Doiron
