Jacksonville Zoo ~ Finally!

We finally went on our field trip to the Jacksonville Zoo on Tuesday, May 20th.

Mother's Day Tea

Our Annual Mother's Day Tea was held on Friday, May 9th.  Sweet tea was served in a punch bowl with cookies.  Our students shared their work with their mothers and grandmothers, then played handbells for entertainment.

Planting Bean Seeds

During the month of May, our students learned about plants.  We planted bean seeds and watched them grow.

 Each day our students observed their bean plants and recorded their growth in their Interactive Science Journals.

East Ranch Kindergarten Program

On Thursday, April 24th, our class participated in the East Ranch Kindergarten Program.  We were so proud of the nine children whose families brought them to the program!

Our class was the only class who played handbells!

Field Trip to the Materials Recovery Facility

On Tuesday, May 6th, we took a field trip to Republic's Materials Recovery Facility (Recycling Center).  Our students learned how the recycling we put into our bins gets taken to the Recycling Center and is sorted by aluminum, glass, paper, cardboard, and different types of plastics.  They got to put on child-sized fluorescent safety vests and safety glasses and tour the plant.  It was sooooo neat!  We wish all of you could go visit this place.

Congratulations to our Intern, Mrs. Pearson.  She has completed her internship, and graduated from Florida State College at Jacksonville (FSCJ) on Sunday, May 4, 2014.
