It was a busy first week of school. Students are learning our rules, rituals, and routines. Please take the time to review our five class rules:
THE TEACHER'S RULE: Follow directions.
THE HAND RULE: Keep hands, feet, and objects to yourself.
(No hitting or kicking!)
THE HEART RULE: Show respect.
THE FOOT RULE: Walk and stand Mustang Style.
(No running in the building!)
THE SCHOOL RULE: Be ready to learn.
We are very consistent at school, and you can help us by being consistent with your discipline at home. If you have a rule that there is no running in the house, establish a consequence for running in the house. If you tell your child that the consequence for running in the house is missing a TV show, you must follow through with that consequence EVERY time your child runs in the house. By being inconsistent, you are confusing him/her and he/she doesn't know what to expect. He/She will run in the house just to see what you are going to do. Following the rules and having consistent consequences at home, will make following the rules at school easier for your child. If you have questions or concerns about this, please don't hesitate to contact Mrs. Doiron at school (745-4919, ext. 277), cell (703-0847), or e-mail (doironl@duvalschools.org).
