Science Experiment

Our kindergarten students are learning to be scientists!  They are working together.  In this experiment, they practiced observing things using their sense of sight.  Using a paper paint bucket, students observed a crayon, plastic dinosaur toy, small pencil, and finally a shell.  The observed the object using a hole in the side of the bucket.  They also observed the object through water.  There was plastic wrap on top of the bucket and water on that plastic wrap.

Students discovered that when they observed the object through water, it was bigger, just like when they observed it with a magnifying glass (hand lens).

Students recorded their observations in both their Science Workbooks and their Interactive Science Journals, by drawing illustrations of what they saw.
