Kindergarten supplies for the 2014-2015 school year

MERRILL ROAD ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
Kindergarten Supply List

Please do not label school supplies, except for the headphones.

  • Backpack WITHOUT wheels (Children pulling rolling backpacks in our hallways is dangerous, and backpacks with wheels don't fit well into our students' cubbies.)
  • 2 boxes - 16 skinny Crayola crayons
  • 1 pack - #2 skinny pencils
  • 8 (small) glue sticks
  • 4 (wide) black Expo dry erase markers
  • 1 plastic folder with prongs (solid color, no characters, please)
  • 2 reams - white copy paper
  • 1 bottle - waterless hand sanitizer (at least 7 oz.)
  • 1 bottle - antibacterial soap (at least 7 oz)
  • 1 box - Kleenex tissues
  • 1 pair of headphones (no earbuds, please) labeled with your child's name for personal use on the school computers (available at Dollar Tree or Walmart)
  • 1 Primary Journal (This is like a composition book, but it has a space for a picture at the top of every page.  Please see photo.)
Primary Journal
Donations of the following items are appreciated, but not required:
  • Antibacterial cleaning wipes
  • Baby wipes (Our students use these for cleaning hands after recess, right before lunch.)
  • Gallon size plastic zipper bags
Mrs. Doiron suggests that each student have a refillable water bottle, that closes tightly, to keep at his/her table.  Your youngster can refill his/her water bottle at the sink in our classroom.  (Please do not send a new bottle of water every day.)  Students will take their water bottles home at the end of each week to be washed, then bring them back to school on Monday.  Please label your child's water bottle with his/her first name.  Here are some interesting articles about children and hydration
