Math Centers

Sometimes our students work in Math Centers.  Children are divided into five groups and each group does something different each day.  By the end of the week, every student has worked in every center.  Pictured here are four of our centers.  The fifth center was working on the computers.  Math sure is fun in kindergarten!
Students are practicing matching numerals with the correct number of objects.

The spaghetti looking things are "Wiki Sticks" which are actually wax covered yarn pieces.  The children have two tasks in this center.  They make the numeral with "Wiki Sticks" and count out that number of teddy bear counters.  They were working with numbers 0-20.

This is our Interactive White Board ("Smart Board").  Here children are putting the numerals in order from 0-20 in puzzle fashion.  If you have never experienced an Interactive White Board, come visit us at school.  It is too cool!

Students are practicing printing numerals 0-10 correctly in their Handwriting: Numerals books.
