Revisiting Functional Writing

We are revisiting Functional Writing.  On Tuesday, April 2nd, we read Pizza Faces by Amy Algie.  This level C book gives directions for making little individual pizzas.  The recipe was modified for use in the classroom, then students made and ate their own pizza faces.  Ingredients used were: English muffins, mozzarella cheese, black olives, mushroom slices, red bell pepper slices, and pepperoni.  As always, students are not forced to eat anything they don't like, so each one was different.  What do you think of our pizza faces?










On Wednesday, April 3rd, our student recalled how they had created their pizzas and wrote directions on how to make them.
